Welcome to the second ever branch of Richer Sounds!
Opened in 1983, the Stockport branch of Richer Sounds is still one of the largest stores in the chain, with incredible displays of the latest flat-screen TV and home cinema technology. That doesn't mean to say we've forgotten our heritage, the die hard High Fidelity traditionalists among you are still extremely well catered for (dare we say spoilt?) with an amazing array of two channel bargains across a huge range of dedicated stereo gear. And of course, as always, our friendly, well trained, incredibly attractive staff are always on hand for impartial advice on whatever takes your fancy.
We offer a same day delivery and/or installation service where possible, so not only is it possible for you to take your purchase home today, but you can even relax and put your feet up by the fire while one of our highly skilled team puts your system together for you. All we ask in return is cups of tea and perhaps a nice biscuit or two.

Richer Sounds Stockport is located in the heart of Stockport's redevelopment area on historic Lower Hillgate, a mere 5-minute walk from the main shopping centre.
If you're coming by car, it's simple: come off the motorway at junction 27 � (we're about 5 minutes from the big 24-hour Tesco). Take the A626 St. Mary's Way to the top, where you'll see a Nissan garage, turn right there and follow the road down the hill through two sets of lights and at the next set of lights at the bottom of the hill you will see our new and improved store straight ahead and to your left.

Having managed both the Manchester stores, Anthony has now made a triumphant return back home to Stockport. A Richer Sounds stalwart with over 10 years experience in the hi-fi, TV and home cinema world, Anthony is more than knowledgeable about all areas (and we mean everything!) and will put together a fantastic deal tailored to your needs that’ll blow you away, without busting your budget!
 Chris, Deputy Manager
Our resident vinyl anorak Chris is also a keen musician and chef and recently discovered the joys of walking. With plenty of experience in recording studios and live sound, and having worked in 'most' branches of Richer Sounds, Chris can advise you on how to get the best for your money whether you want a simple mini stereo system for the kitchen to a TV and full 7.1 Home Cinema. He's even an expert in multi-room audio distribution. When not working, Chris can be found either playing his bass guitar in a local heavy metal band, cooking up a storm in his kitchen or in the middle of the Peak District, covered in mud, dreaming about a pint of Black Sheep. Whatever your needs, with Chris you're in a safe pair of hands; just don't ask him about his taste in music...
 Ben, Sales Consultant
With his wealth of home cinema knowledge, longstanding colleague Ben would be an asset to any team, (except possibly Chelsea FC, too much chance of him 'accidentally' scoring own goals.) As Ben would say himself, home cinema is his passion and putting together a fantastic system to meet any requirements is not a problem, as well as making sure the shop is always a really clean, pleasant environment and brewing an amazing cup of tea. Ben's own system, the highlights of which include a 42" Pioneer plasma, and the latest Mordaunt Short speakers ensure it's his house we all pile round to when the latest action blockbuster is released on DVD, whether he likes it or not!
 John, Junior Sales Assistant
John is currently vying with Ben for the coveted title of Richer Sounds Stockport's Biggest Home Cinema Anorak. His dedicated home cinema room, complete with 7.1 speaker setup is quite rightly the envy of all his friends and is a project he's spent most of his spare time (not to mention cash!) on for a few years now. He's currently putting the in-depth staff training and expert knowledge we�re internationally renowned for to very good use so he can get those final tweaks and upgrades to his pride and joy just right. Keen air guitarist John is also the man to speak to for all your classic rock needs. Come down and share his enthusiasm and expertise for home cinema and head-banging!
 Jack, Junior Sales Assistant (CKT)
Hello, is it tea you're looking for? Another of our newer additions here at the Stockport store, Jack is our secret weapon in the fight against boredom. He sings, he dances, he plays guitar! He's the front-man for a local ska band of very high repute, and is in fierce demand for his mighty dub sound system which has been the soundtrack to many, many fine parties and gatherings in the Greater Manchester area. He's not just a multi talented musical genius though, he's a fine addition to the store with a wide knowledge of home entertainment, and can always accommodate your specific needs and budget into a fantastic setup, whatever your requirements!

Floppy fringed Tom is the Yin to Sean's Yang, and the other half of our elite stockroom team. His radiant smile can brighten up even the dreariest overcast spring day, and he's more than happy to help you carry your purchase to the car, or whatever else he can do to make sure you leave the store happier than you were when arrived!

BMX riding, skate park inhabiting, punk rocker Sean is one of our behind the scenes team, and if it can be fetched, carried, lifted, tested, cleaned, prodded and generally interfered with then Sean is the man for the job. In his spare time allergy sufferer Sean enjoys picking flowers and petting kittens, with hilarious consequences.
